How TikTok pays creators

TikTok's main payout for views is the Creator Rewards Program, which replaced the original Creator Fund. It pays for qualified views on original videos that are longer than one minute. TikTok does not publish a fixed rate: payouts depend on factors such as how original and engaging a video is, search value and where viewers are.

The calculator uses the same formula as for other platforms:

Earnings = qualified views × RPM ÷ 1,000

Many creators report RPMs of roughly $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 qualified views, which is the default range. At 50,000 qualified views a day, that would be about $20–$50 a day, or $600–$1,500 a month. Your real rate is shown in TikTok Studio, and it can be lower or higher.

What counts as a qualified view?

TikTok counts views that meet its criteria, which at the time of writing include views from the For You feed on eligible videos, while excluding things like views from ads or invalid activity. Because only some views qualify, your qualified view count is lower than the total view count shown on a video. Use the qualified figure from TikTok Studio in the calculator.

Who can join the Creator Rewards Program?

At the time of writing, TikTok's published requirements include being at least 18, having at least 10,000 followers, at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, an account in good standing, and living in a country where the program is available. TikTok updates these rules, so check the official page in the app before planning around them.

Other ways TikTok creators earn

  • Brand deals and sponsored posts, often worth far more than view payouts for niche creators.
  • TikTok Shop affiliate commissions from products you feature.
  • LIVE gifts, which viewers buy with coins.
  • Subscriptions, for eligible creators.
  • Your own products, such as templates, presets, guides or coaching, sold through a link in your bio.

For engagement on your videos, use the TikTok engagement rate calculator; brands look at it before offering deals.

Frequently asked questions

How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

Under the Creator Rewards Program, many creators report about $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 qualified views. TikTok does not publish a fixed rate, and only qualified views on videos over a minute count.

How much does TikTok pay for 1 million views?

At $0.40–$1.00 per 1,000 qualified views, 1 million qualified views would pay about $400–$1,000. Total views include unqualified ones, so the payout per total view is usually lower.

Does TikTok still have the Creator Fund?

The original Creator Fund has been replaced by the Creator Rewards Program, which pays for longer videos.

Do short TikToks under one minute earn money?

They do not earn Creator Rewards payouts, but they can still grow your audience, bring brand deals and drive sales of your own products.
